C.J., agency mascot of Nashville-based DNA Creative Marketing, was recently honored by Ken Wheaton of Advertising Age as a “Dog of Advertising.” His photo was prominently displayed on the magazine’s website, along with dogs from agencies such as DDB Worldwide, TBWA and Y&R.
A nearly 10-year old Golden Retriever, C.J. has been an ad man since he was a young pup. His first photo shoot for Docker’s shoes was a bit too successful, as the client said his cuteness overpowered the photo and distracted from the product. From there, he went on to do pro bono work for the local children’s museum as well as for Happy Tales, a no-kill animal shelter. C.J. currently holds the title of agency CEO or Chief Entertainment Officer and even has his own microsite (www.dnacreative.com/cj).
“We are very proud that C.J. has received this notable distinction, which will certainly mean a few more Milk-Bones® for him,” said Dale Addy, Partner at DNA Creative Marketing. “He’s a fun guy around the office and helps us relieve stress. There’s nothing like a game of fetch to get the creative juices flowing.”
